New leadership and strategic realignment of the Lymphoma Group
In March 2025, Noémie Lang and Frank Stenner were elected as the new presidents of the group. Shortly thereafter, the lymphoma group defined its strategic focus around the following key priorities:

A. Increasing participation and motivation.
To foster broader engagement, monthly virtual meetings were introduced. Initially termed “open hours,” these have evolved into a “virtual core group” format that remains open to all members. Participation has been consistently strong, with a stable number of members contributing to constructive and collegial discussions on important group matters. These meetings provide an accessible platform where everyone can contribute without the higher threshold of larger plenary sessions, thereby helping to build a bridge for the next generation of hemato-oncologists with an interest in lymphoma.
B. Implementation of weighted voting procedures.
Voting is now conducted using weighted ballots, allowing members to rate proposals on defined scales. For example, feasibility and scientific significance of trial proposals are assessed by each participating center on a scale from 0 to 6. This approach better captures the nuances of members’ opinions and priorities.
C. Establishment of transparent authorship policies.
A transparent mechanism for future authorships—particularly in the context of international collaborative trials—has been developed and formally implemented within the group.
D. (Keine Übersetzung!) Stärkung der internationalen Zusammenarbeit
In an effort to strengthen international collaboration, a summit meeting between liaison members of the GLA (German Lymphoma Alliance) and the SCI Lymphoma Group, together with the CSO of Roche Pharma (Charles), was held in Zurich in early February 2026. This meeting provided a valuable platform for strategic exchange, and closer collaboration between the groups is anticipated as a positive outcome of this initiative.
Research Group Highlights
Our group included 122 patients in clinical trials in 2025; 70 in interventional trials (SAKK 38/23 LYBERTY, MorningLyte, EMN30 MajesTEC-4, IELSG-48 and NX-5948-301) and 52 in the European Mantle Cell Lymphoma Network (EMCL) Registry.
In 2025 the PG Lymphoma continued with the SAKK 28/23 LIBERTY, investigating whether the detection of circulating tumor DNA (ctDNA) in cerebrospinal fluid can be used to determine more easily and precisely than before whether CNS involvement is present in B-cell lymphoma patients with a high risk of such CNS complication or whether the risk of this is increased. The trial, with Noémie Lang as PI, won the 2023 first SAKK Network Trial Award with prize money of CHF 1 million. The recruitment is complete and the trial recently closed for accrual (66 patients enrolled over 65 planned).
The international phase III academic trial MorningLyte comparing the combination of mosunetuzumab, a bispecific antibody that targets CD20 and CD3 and redirects T cells to attack and eliminate malignant B cells, with the immunomodulator lenalidomide versus the standard chemoimmunotherapy in previously untreated FL patients has been open for enrolment and is doing better over time. Carmen Julia De Ramón Ortiz serves as the Swiss PI.
